What was it?
A six-room interactive walkthrough that explored overthinking and the cathartic role of music.
They will enter into a warped reality that is further enhanced with 3-D glasses and fluorescent detailing. A room of thought bubble clouds will bombard them with familiar yet fruitless thoughts and allow them to let go of them.
Winding through a cabled hallway, they will emerge in “Nowhereville”, the land of Borkel’s developing character Billytoon, who teaches love and other emotions behind music. This is followed by the beautiful yet melancholic forest of broken instruments where lost musicals souls linger.
Turn the corner and see the homage to the many musical legends who went for their dreams. In the “Rock In Peace” series, the artist brings a mix of cultures and styles to commemorate these dreamers. This tribute takes the form of a recreation of iconic NYC punk club, CBGB, with a glowing, ghostly twist.
Exit through the infamous CBGB bathroom followed by a hall of some Borkel’s previous pieces available for purchase.
This is not your ordinary art show. Nor is D. Borkel your ordinary artist.

“There’s a lot of stuff in NYC but this exhibition is something original. I absolutely loved it, they gave out 3D glasses, and you walk around some parallel world, playing music and pressing buttons.”

I am a jaded New Yorker but I loved this art installation, it was interactive and mesmerizing with those 3-D glasses. I checked out Happy Go Lucky which advertises a similar experience but is really more for the IG pics than an actual experience. Art Continuum was definitely an Alice in wonderland experience, as in, kinda freaked out but also very curious about what's going on. I have also checked out the museum of illusions and that also does not compare to this super cool art/music installation. Also, the artist was there and he has pieces for sale and he was as cool as his work. A MUST SEE !!!

“The experience is a thought-provoking journey through the mind of the artist and his work. It's one of those things that sticks in the mind and has you chewing over the thoughts for days following the exhibit.”
